Arrival in Cusco & Gentle Historical Introduction
Arrival at Cusco Airport and transfer to the selected hotel. Due to Cusco’s altitude (3,399 meters / 11,152 ft), rest and hydration are strongly recommended upon arrival.
In the afternoon, a gentle walking tour through Cusco’s Historic Center allows for gradual acclimatization. The visit includes the Main Square, colonial streets built upon Inca foundations, and an introduction to the historical evolution of the city from the Inca Empire to the colonial period.

The Machu Picchu authorities require: full name, passport number, date of birth, and nationality to issue the entrance ticket. Please provide these details exactly as shown in your passport when making your reservation.
Are there mosquitoes at Machu Picchu?
Yes, there are mosquitoes, especially during the dry season (April to October) when there is less chance of rain. We recommend bringing mosquito repellent, either in cream or spray form.
Travelers must arrive in the city of Cusco at least one day before the tour. The Machu Picchu authorities do not accept date changes on the admission ticket.
What is prohibited to bring when visiting Machu Picchu?
It is prohibited to bring items such as umbrellas, selfie sticks, food, and drone cameras.
Machu Picchu’s capacity is limited.
Admission is by hourly time slots from 6 AM to 2 PM. Our tour includes a visit to Machu Picchu on circuits 1 and 2 + the classic photo, during the 06:00 AM to 10:00 AM time slots. If these slots are not available, MACHUPICCHU CN will immediately confirm the tour for the next available hour, ensuring your visit to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. The guided tour within Machu Picchu lasts around 2 hours and 30 minutes, following a designated circuit.

A representative from MACHUPICCHU CN will contact you one day in advance to arrange the meeting in your hotel lobby or at our office, as previously agreed. You will be provided with a detailed map and the step-by-step itinerary, along with all the important tickets for this program.
What should I bring for this excursion?
To spend the night in Aguas Calientes (the town near Machu Picchu), bring a small or carry-on bag with enough clothes for the night. You can leave the rest of your items at your hotel in Cusco. Most of these establishments have storage areas where they will keep your things (at no extra charge). If you are not confident about where you are staying, we will gladly store your belongings at our office || Calle Ayacucho N°161, Cusco, Historic Center ||. This way, you can avoid carrying unnecessary items that you won't need at Machu Picchu.
Where do I leave my backpack or carry-on when visiting Machu Picchu on the second day?
You can leave it in the luggage storage at your hotel in Aguas Calientes (there is no extra charge). After visiting Machu Picchu, you can return to pick up your luggage and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo.
The tour or activity will have a maximum of 10 travelers. During the low season, there may be as few as 4 people on the tour or activity, offering a more personalized experience.
